From the Runway to the Home: Prints & Patterns

Since this is my first post of the New Year and we're in the middle of New York Fashion Week, I thought it would be fitting to introduce this new segment. I want to show you how to take the hot new trends in the runway and use them when shopping for your home.

For this first post, we are going to talk all about prints and patterns! Introducing these in your home decor can be a bit scary at first. However, when done correctly, they can tie your whole room together.

Side Note: Don't be afraid to mix your prints and patterns!

2013 Pantone Color of the Year

It's here! Earlier this week, Pantone announced its color of the year, Pantone 17-5641 Emerald. This color is described by Pantone as "Lively. Radiant. Lush...A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony." I'm especially excited because green is my favorite color! Take a look at some of the ways Emerald is being used in fashion and home decor.

Cooking Class Bridal Shower

Aimee Hull
(Soon to be Mrs. Rogers)

About to get married? Need some help learning how to make a fabulous dinner for you and your husband? We have a new bridal shower idea for you! Why not combine getting kitchen items with a class on how to use them? That's exactly what we did. My mom being the amazing cook and cooking demo queen that she is, came up with the idea of a cooking class bridal shower. Our first bride was Aimee. With my mom's guidance, she was able to create a new dinner that could be prepared for her soon to be husband. All the attendees also brought Aimee their favorite recipes so she could start her collection. Here's how it all played out.
