My best friends Ashlei and Chad got married this past April and as bestie and MOH (Maid of Honor), I knew I wanted to throw an amazing shower for her. So my mom and I set out to accomplish just that. She of course did all the cooking and menu planning and I put my designing eye to work. The Menu (some of my mom's go to favorites):
Balsamic Chicken Wings
Pork Tenderloin Sliders
Meatballs
Hash Brown Casserole
Broccoli Salad
Sangria
Cream Cheese & Candied Jalapeño Dip
Artichoke Bites

The Decorations:
We purchased the decorations at Hobby Lobby. We chose to stick with the wedding colors, black and hot pink. We added some silver and crystal to add a little flare. Everything was very cost effective and reusable. We used tool, funky candle holders, tablecloths with runners, and flowers.
We had 2 tables to decorate, one for food, one for the cake and drinks:
For the cake table, my mom loves to frame the invitation. It is something that the couple can have as a keepsake and it looks pretty on the table. I draped the tool around the candle holders and flowers in the center of the table. The flowers were arranged by a family friend of the bride who works at the H.E.B. flower department. You don’t have to go to a fancy flower shop to find gorgeous flowers, just stop by your local grocery store!
The cake was made by a coworker of mine that owns a cake business. The initial toppers were purchased at Hobby Lobby and the best part is, the couple used them on their actual wedding cake!
For the food table, I stuck to the middle for all the décor as well. Our table is oval so I made the shape in the middle reflected that. I love the combo of the candles, tool and flowers.
We place the food in a clockwise rotation for easy circulation.

Such simple accessories placed in the right way can really make a huge impact on your design. The menu was filled with classic and fun foods that worked for both the male and female appetite. Since this was an early evening party, we were able to use tables inside and out. Having an informal buffet setting allows your guests to mingle and converse with everyone. Overall the shower was a success! My mom and I had a blast getting everything together and best of all, my best friend was able to have a fun get together with her friends and family before her big day.
Happy Designing,
Jordan
