Home Office

One of my dreams is to have a home office that fits my needs and personality. I don't necessarily want to do all my work from home, but if I have to, I want a place that is functional and stylish. I believe this is true for everyone especially if your "off site" office is less than beautiful. A home office can be a place for work, hobbies, or simply a hiding place for your computer. These are a few ideas for home offices that I think will really help make this space your own.

Personalize your space: Add large photos of your
family or recent travels to really make it feel
like home every time you sit down to work.
Storage is key: Everything needs a place.
I believe you can work more
efficiently when you are organized.
Leave your desk clean: This is a challenge for me,
but I'm working on it. It can really help
close your day out and allow you
to have a fresh start in the morning.
Utilize the windows: Add a pop of color with really
fun window treatments.
Utilize the windows: Place your furniture in a way that
can let you use as much natural light as possible.
If the floor plan allows, you can have a nice
view from your chair.
Get rid of the traditional overhead light and add a really
great pendant or chandelier. This will also give you a
softer light which is nice if your work requires you
to stare at a computer all day.
The classic man: Dark cabinets and clean lines
The classic man: Warm colors and geometric patterns
Mix feminine and masculine: This works especially
well for a couple sharing the office.
Don't be afraid to add color: The office is an area that doesn't have
to be matchy matchy with the rest of your home.
It's your office, make it feel like it!

Make work fun, and get excited to show off your home office!
